Meat Market Productions is a recently formed Dallas-based dance theater company. Meat Market produces a variety of different artistic projects, such as new multidisciplinary productions, short films, and community-based creation projects. Under the Artistic Director, Marlee Fleisher, Meat Market Productions will bring together a diverse range of highly skilled artists from a variety of fields and disciplines. Through our innovative, multidimensional approach to art and performance each of the various programs will strive to explore “what dance performance is, or can be?” and create conversations within the community.
Marlee Fleisher is a choreographer, dancer, and creator. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Marlee has trained and worked in the Dallas dance community for over 20 years. She is an alumnus of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Adelphi University. Before the establishment of Meat Market Productions, Marlee Fleisher received the Kyle Richards choreography award and created a full evening production ‘not to disappoint, but” in April 2021. She has collaborated with other artists and professors on numerous short films and pieces. Ultimately, Marlee is focused on creating new collaborative works across multiple fields, emphasizing fostering a community of experimentation and collaboration, and creating work that is challenging but accessible to a broad audience.
