they saw tomorrow

"they saw tomorrow," is an investigation and imagination of what the world might look like in twenty years, created in two parts: an interview archive and live performance. The interview archive features twenty people's responses to a series of four questions:

In twenty years what do you think the world will look like?
In twenty years what do you hope the world will look like?
In twenty years what do you worry the world will look like?
In twenty years what would utopia look like?

The twenty interviews were then used as inspiration for the creation of the second part the project, a live performance.  “they saw tomorrow" premiered at the Urban Arts Center on July 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th. The show featured choreography by Marlee Fleisher in collaboration with the dancers (Avery-Jai Andrews, Willow DuBose, Chaslyn Donovon, Shadden Hashem, and Lauren Kravitz) and an original musical composition performed and created by John Franklin Jr., Max Gann, Rodney McDonald, and John Mitchell. The show was under the production management of Rachel Kitto and had lighting design by Christopher Ham assisted by Talia Markowski.
